Hey there – I'm Andrew!

I'm passionate about the intersection of leadership, justice, and marketing. I live just outside of Portland, Oregon, with roots in the Inland Empire of Southern California.

I've always been driven by the wonder of what could be and the ways we inspire and lead people to get there. Of course, getting there is far easier said than done in an increasingly complex and nuanced world – but faithfully showing up and caring well for others makes all the difference. And sometimes stirring up some 'good trouble' along the way helps too.

Andrew Hansen

I currently serve Pacific Youth Choir as its Executive Director, guiding our growth and operations as we continue to build upon our regional and national reputation. In addition to leading a nonprofit, I consult for others and mentor future leaders through teaching undergraduate students at the University of Portland.

Prior to my current roles, I worked at CauseMic as a Senior Account Strategist, supporting nonprofits and social impact startups with growth strategy, annual and campaign fundraising, technology, and marketing. Want the deep dive into my CV? Connect with me on LinkedIn 🙂

How I Help Organizations Grow

I help passionate nonprofits move beyond survival mode by building practical systems that create lasting impact.

Having led organizations through major transitions (like growing a declining congregation from 350 to over 850 members), I understand the daily reality of balancing ambitious mission work with practical constraints. That's why I focus on solutions that work in the real world, not just in theory.

My approach combines strategic planning with hands-on implementation, helping you:

Build sustainable systems that respect your limited time and resources
Create clear priorities that align with your mission and capacity
Develop practical tools for fundraising and donor communications
Implement smart ways to leverage technology and volunteers

When I'm not working with nonprofits, you'll find me enjoying the Pacific Northwest with my husband Daniel, probably talking his ear off about the latest TikTok trend, checking out a winery, or quietly reading with a cup of coffee in hand.

What Drives Me

Integral to all my work is keeping justice and equity at the forefront of what I do. As a gay, Type 1 Diabetic, adoptee, and Latino, I recognize that each aspect of our identity and experiences shapes who we are, and genuine care and curiosity about one another leads to compassion and stronger outcomes in all things.
